Trekking in Iceland

Arctic Rafting offers two halfday hiking trips close to Iceland's capital, Reykjavik and two multi day treks out in the magnificent Icelandic nature. All these trips are great fun and a superb way to explore and experience the rough and raw Icelandic landscapes.

You can choose between the following trips.

The Hot Spring Hunt: Hike to hot springs near the small geothermal town of Hveragerði and bathe in the warm water of a river flowing down the Reykjadalur valley. This trip is only 30 min from Reykjavik.

Reykjavik Panoramic: Hike to the top the capital's local mountain and gaze from its peak in all directions. The Mt. Esja has given many poets and painters the inspiration to great works. From its peak you can see (if the weather permits) Snaefellsjokull Glacier to the west


The Hornstrandir Nature Reserve trek takes you walking in the footsteps of the old Viking settlement of Hornstrandir in the Vestern Fjords of Iceland. It is a highly inaccessible place of unrivalledbeauty,glacial carved fjords and towering sea cliffs teaming with bird live and in the ocean seals enjoy the solid. Today no one lives in the area but ruins and relics paint a historic picture of the past.

Highlights of the Highlands follows the old trail from Landmannalaugar to Thorsmork valley and then on towards the North atlantic shore, over the Eyjafjallajokull glacier and down to the Skogar Waterfall. There is nothing more to say then this...This is the ultimate Icelandic trek. No other trip will show you such a diverse set of landscapes and vistas..!
