The Glacier Grand Slam is our most popular glacier trip and for a good reason, you will visit the most breathtaking and inspiring nature that Vatnajökull National Park has to offer.
We will start with a short drive through the wide open landscapes to the moraines created by the retreat of the glacier. After a short walk through the contrasting landscape of green moss and black gravel we will arrive at the foot of the glacier tongue where we will gear up on crampons. With your glacier guide leading the way you will soon be walking on ice and learning about the many interesting features of the glacier as you make your way towards the awe-inspiring icefall. Here you will witness up close how the ancient ice stoically crushes hundreds of meters off the mountaintops as it crawls in slow motion towards the ocean.
After our exploration we will drive to the world famous Jökulsárlon glacier lagoon where you will take a boat ride among enormous icebergs with Europe´s largest ice mass in the background. We will take an amazing 30-40 minute boat ride on the strange looking wheeled boats and glide among numerous large icebergs as the Jökulsárlon guide explains the history and formation of the lagoon.
This is surely the ultimate Iceland adventure, filled with exploration, adventure and truly unforgettable views.

Distance from Reykjavik: 350 km.
Duration of trip: approx. 7-8 hours with transfers, 30 minute approach to glacier, ca 4 hours on the glacier and 1 hour at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.
Available: 15th of May to 15th September (depending on weather).
No minimum number of participants in June, July & August.
Age limit: 15 years.
Bring with you: Warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves. Good hiking shoes are recommended!
